Youth Chamber

Who we are

The OCHYCC strives to promote the development of young professionals at the graduate and undergraduate levels for any students in the Orange County area. We encourage professional development by offering networking opportunities, educational workshops, and access to scholarships.

Mission Statement

The OCHYCC is dedicated to linking culturally diverse college students to the professional world through career development, community involvement, and access to higher education. We are devoted to promoting leaders of tomorrow by extending our hands today.

Career Development

The OCHYCC connects students with the corporate world by developing a series of roundtable discussion series. The Roundtables were developed to prepare students for entry into the work force. Examples of the roundtable topics include Business Etiquette, Networking, Resources for Graduate School, Public Speaking and Presentation, Mock Interviews and Professional Communication.

Key presenters and guest speakers have included corporate and community representatives from Verizon Wireless, AT&T, State Farm, Disney, Ernst & Young, Wells Fargo, the Small Business Development Center, and the National Society of Hispanic MBA's and many more. The Roundtables provide participants with professional expertise experiences in corporate and community environments.

Community Involvement

Being part of the OCHYCC stresses the importance of community involvement and making a difference by giving back to the community.

Today's youth is eager to achieve educational goals, professional developmental and is committed to giving back to their communities. The OCHYCC is the catalyst to facilitate their success by interlacing the three focus areas.

Examples of community organizations that are involved with the OCHYCC are: the Orange County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, National Society of Hispanic MBA’s, and La Habra's Advance to College.

Access to Higher Education

Education is a key component of our program. A key to success is education, to further promote and provide resources to our members, OCHYCC has partnered with NSHMBA (National Society of Hispanic MBAs). In addition to mentorship, NSHMBA exposes students to higher education through various opportunities.

Examples of higher education opportunities include the MBA training program at Pepperdine University and the UCLA Riordan program. Additionally, the OCHYCC provides scholarships in order to assist in the achievement of these goals.

In addition, the OCHYCC is partnered with LBSA (Latino Business Student Association) at the University of California Irvine, and California State University of Fullerton.
